Question: How is Centurion Stone made?
Answer: Centurion stones are produced from lightweight aggregate, Portland cement, chemical additives, fly ash and permanent mineral oxide pigments. The pigments are absorbed into the base mix and become an integral part of the veneer, similar to natural stone. Minimal color changes occur with the oxide pigments.
Question: What about building code requirements?
Answer: Centurion Stone meets or exceeds the code requirements for ICC ES standards. Numerous tests were performed on the products to qualify for the AC-51 testing acceptance.
Question: What are the main differences between manufactured stone veneer & natural stones?
Answer: Molds are cast from select pieces of natural stone capturing the details of the stone. The cast pieces are lighter in weight, which require no support footings, ties or lintels for support. Manufactured stone veneer can be adhered to surfaces that natural stone installations would be very costly to achieve. Usually manufactured stone is 30% to 50% of the installed cost of natural stone.
